First private spaceport is designed by Foster

Architecture teams Foster+Partners and URS has won an international competition to build the first spaceport, which will be used by spacetourists. This futuristic building will stand in Mexico. The form is growing from a ground like kind of hill. Shape is not far from helmet of biker, which is traing to break word recorde of speed. Everything goes together inside, where you can feel that universe is not far away.

Bilbao will start rebuilding of the old port. It´s the biggest masterplan by Zaha Hadid, which will be probably realized. A 60 hectare port stands on an island, which is in a curve of river Nervion. In new centre will be home for nearly 15,000 new residents and workshops, labs, studios, and offices for 6,000 working people.

OMA will build the highest building in Latin America

Mexican firm DANHOS will build a skyscraper to celebrate Mexico´s independence from Spain. The building, which is estimated to cost $600 million US, is scheduled to open in 2010 in time to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Mexico’s independence. Mass is shape by two pyramidal forms connected by opposite sides. In the level of converse there is located a glass sky lobby. Building is multifunctional – housing, offices, museum, gym etc.

New icon of Malaysia

American architecture office Asymptote have announced a proposal for a Penang Global City Center. Malaysian government’s plans to boost economic growth in the area. Asymptote wants to create a new icon of the city by horizontal structure that grows into two vertical towers. Buildings are part of 3D urban conception.
